Edward Green & Son Wakefield

These company photographs were another charity shop purchase, this time from Sue Ryder in Headingley. Edward Green’s foundry was originally known for the Patent Fuel Economizer and Steam Generator made at their Phoenix Works in Wakefield, not far from the present day Hepworth Gallery.

According to Grace’s Guide they were founded in 1821 and bought out by Senior in 1983. I hope to use the images and information as the basis of a small project in the near future.
